Out Of Hospital Birth: A Basic Overview of the history, philosophy, and practice of midwifery.
Midwifery Management: Discussion on management differences between the mainstream medical model and the midwifery model of care. Plenty of time to cover the "What if's" surrounding out of hospital birth.
Birth Works - with Yuliya Welk- In the course of the last 4 years I had two beautiful, uniquely fulfilling home water births with Savita and Jen. During the experience I became passionate about childbirth. Now I’m certified with a non-profit organization called BirthWorks as a childbirth educator. I teach 8 week classes that offer deep academic and emotional preparation for birth. In my classes you will learn about nutrition, pelvic bodywork, physiology of labor, options and choices about birth places and attendants, optimal fetal positioning, medical procedures and alternatives among others. You will enjoy guided visualizations, great discussions and insights that will lead you to a positive birth experience. Classes are taught in Cable/Hayward/Ashland area.
